Growing up in adversity, I spent a decade doing line-level youth work in disconnected communities across the US. After serving two terms of AmeriCorps, I worked for a federal agency and a national nonprofit in Washington, DC, both focused on youth. After that I worked in Washington's state education agency as their first-ever student engagement specialist.
