Barbara Mujica is a novelist, short story writer and scholar. Her critically acclaimed novel, Sister Teresa, was published in 2007 (Overlook), paperback edition, 2008 (Penguin). Her novel frida was an international bestseller that has appeared in seventeen languages. Based on the tumultuous relationship between Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, frida was published in hardcover by Overlook Press in 2001 and in paperback by Plume in 2002. It was a Book-of-the-Month Club alternate.
