There are 18 fourth grade students, 10 male and 8 female, with 13 white students and 5 African American students. The lesson will have students identify and name the strata of the Amazon Rainforest with 90% accuracy by viewing a poster on strata and creating a diorama of the layers using miscellaneous objects. Students will use the poster to construct their dioramas in small groups and then post pictures and descriptions of their projects to the class wiki page.

A- There are 18 fourth grade students. 10 students are male and 8 are female. 13 of the

S- Students will identify and name the strata of the Amazon Rainforest with 90% accuracy by
the end of the lesson after viewing the poster on strata and creating a diorama of the strata.
S- Materials used will be a poster with photoshopped image(s), miscellaneous objects to create
a diorama, and desktop publishing.
U- Students will use the poster as a reference point in constructing a diorama. Students will
create a desktop publishing assignment.
R- Students will view and discuss the poster and will then use the information learned to
construct a diorama of the rainforest strata with small groups. Students will post pictures and
descriptions of their dioramas on the class Wiki page.
E- Students will be evaluated on being able to identify the layers and having those layers
included in the diorama.
