Born in Los Angeles but raised in Sewanee and Chattanooga Tennessee.
After graduating from the University of Tennessee, I lived in the Chicago area and worked at Fermilab where I wrote software for the High Energy Physics and Astrophysics programs. After that time, I moved to Japan working for the late and not so great Merrill Lynch and have since moved on to the next phase of my life.
My wife, Chikako, though born and raised in Japan went to college in Alabama and Texas! At least she did not go to the Universities of Alabama and Texas since during football season, those words are not spoken in my house.
