2. In Our Community
A community is made up of many neighborhoods.
We live in the city of Sparks, Nevada. A city is a big
community.
Many people live in a kind of community called a suburb.
A suburb is an area located near a city. Our friend, Mike,
lives in the suburb, Spanish Springs. His neighborhood
is quieter than ours.
Other people live in rural areas. A rural area has small
communities called towns that are far apart. There is
open spaces used for growing plants for food and raising
animals. Fallon and Fernley are rural areas near Sparks.
We live in the city. We dont live in a rural area or suburb.
