Started Scouting as a Cadet Scout of Toa Payoh 24 (Pei Chun Public School) from 1985-86, Joined as a Scout of Tanglin 05 (The Chinese High School) from 1988-90, and then Venture Scout from 1991-93, serving as Vice-Chairman of the Venture Ex-Co between 1992-93. Went on to become a Rover Scout Instructor from 1994-99, concurrently serving as Asst. Venture Scout Leader (1996-98) and then West Area Service Auxiliary (1998). Was Asst. Scout Leader from 1999-2003, and concurrently Asst. District Commissioner for Newton District from 1999-2001. Was Invited Member of the Scout Roundtable, National Programme Council from 2005-11.
