I have learned several important lessons from my preliminary magazine cover task to the final product: 1) Color scheme is crucial to match the target audience and create the right mood - the dull grey of the preliminary cover did not suit a young audience but the brighter colors of the final cover were more appropriate. 2) Image quality needs to be high to make the product look professional - the poor quality main image on the preliminary cover was improved on the final version using a better camera. 3) Effective editing of images is important to make them aesthetically pleasing and fitting for the magazine genre - more editing was done on the final cover images compared to the preliminary version.

- 3. I have learnt the importance of using a colour scheme which matches your target audience, as well as being eye catching. I believe the grey in the background of my preliminary magazine did not suit the young target audience as grey has connotations of formality and could be considered boring. I chose a dark grey which gave the whole cover a sombre tone. This does not make it an attractive college magazine. A positive of the colours on my College Magazine was the use of yellow and orange, as they are attention grabbing colours so highlight key features or words. On the other hand, I think I used colours far more effectively on the full product. The colours are all bright, representing the young target audience and the happy pop genre. The use of 2 different shades of pink represent the female target audience and feminine main image. I still used yellow as an attention grabbing colour, particularly in the mast head and the FREE! plug. I have learnt that the colour scheme can completely change the mood of a product, therefore should be considered carefully. The Importance of a Colour Scheme
- 4. I learnt the importance of using good quality images. The quality of the image in my preliminary task is very poor, due to me using a poor quality camera. For my full product I used a good quality camera from my college, allowing me to have a less blurry image, with better lighting. This makes the overall product look more professional. Quality of Images Quality of EditingI learnt that it is important to edit images successfully in order for them to be more aestetically pleasing and suit the genre of the magazine.
