Grew up in Fayetteville, Arkansas; moved to Chapel Hill, NC at age 16.
I went to UNC, taught school for 3 years, went back to school and became an OB/GYN. Worked as an OBGYN for 8 years and had three kids before life got too hard for our family to keep going on that course. I left medicine in 2005, then after a few years at home started teaching High School. I now am Assistant Professor in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies at Elon University, happy to finally have combined two things I love dearly-- medicine and teaching- in a package that works well for my family.
