Starting classical piano at the age of three and the clarinet, guitar and composition at seven, Clement Rooney has been committed to music all his life.
At the age of nine he gave a solo piano performance at the Royal Festival Hall and went on to play in the Purcell Room the following year. A few months later he was awarded a scholarship to attend the Purcell School studying classical piano there. At the age of fourteen Clement started taking his composing more seriously eventually establishing composition as his main study under the guidance of Dr Jonathan Cole and then Dai Fujikura.
Clement's compositional output includes two pieces written for the NASH ensemble in the Wigmore Hall
