Grew up in a small burg in southeastern New England where I learned to live my life in the ancient ways of the Swamp Yankee. Raised by a family of lobster and Stonington scallop, I enjoyed peaceful days and nights at the docks in the borough, hoping against hope my extended family wouldn't be the day's catch.
I eventually moved on to California, the happy days of my youth far behind me, and, although I promised Momma Scallop I would never do it, I sometimes quietly enjoy broiled scallops with a lobster bisque, swallowing my guilt and self loathing as only a true Swamp Yankee can.
