Having lived and worked in five countries across four continents, I've developed a strong appreciation for the power of plant breeding and genetics to impact international agriculture and rural development. Currently I am working for the International Rice Research Institute as the head of the Irrigated Lowland breeding program. Our target is to develop inbred rice varieties that deliver value to rural farmers in South East Asia and to partner with other breeding programs (nationally and internationally) to help provide training, access to knowledge and expertise, and to build strong collaborative projects to help further develop our programs.
