DAMIAN From the Greek name 螖伪渭喂伪谓慰蟼 (Damianos) which was derived from Greek 未伪渭伪蠅 (damao) "to tame". Saint Damian was martyred with his twin brother Cosmo in Syria early in the 4th century. They are the patron saints of physicians.
