My great grandma: "Nellie Chappell; aged eight of Bembridge had a wonderful escape from instant death when she fell over Clover Cliff from a height of about 200ft. The headmaster of Malvern College (now Ryde School), who saw the accident and immediately ran to the childs assistance, writes that on reaching the bottom she struck her head againist a large block of chalk. No bones where broken but she was badly brusied and injured". Quoted from the County Press 1913.
