Born in Seattle in 1974, I am the son of immigrants to this country. Delivering newspapers was my first real job for the Everett Herald. As the son of a Norwegian fisherman I would soon end up commercial fishing in Alaska for Sockeye Salmon, Halibut, & Black Cod.
Attended the University of Washington from 1993 to 1996 and studied forest engineering. After school my first job was working in a lumber mill. However after going fishing that summer I landed my first tech job working for a small Software Company RaoSoft. From there I went onto WolfeNet one of Seattle's early ISPs. It's here that I learned to program PERL and make ethernet cables.
