David Estrada graduated from Nampa Senior High School in 1995. From 1998 to 2004 he served in the United States Navy as an Electronics Warfare Technician. He achieved the rank of Petty Officer First Class in 2003 before receiving an honorable discharge and returning to Idaho to pursue his undergraduate education at Boise State University (BSU). David has held undergraduate research positions with BSU's Device Characterization Group, and with the University of California at Berkeley's Power Electronics Research Group, the latter as part of the Summer Undergraduate Program for Engineering Research at Berkeley (SUPERB).
