The Human Needs Food Pantry provides food, clothing, and other services to people in need in Montclair and surrounding Essex County communities. They distribute over 5,000 bags of groceries per month to a diverse client base, including the elderly, disabled, working poor, unemployed, families and singles. The pantry relies on financial donations as well as donations of food, clothing, and household goods from the community in order to carry out their mission of helping those in need.

and neighboring communities
in Essex County.

OUR ORGANIZATION
Established in 1982 by the First Baptist Church of Montclair,
Human Needs Food Pantry was later incorporated as an
independent 501 (c) non-profit organization.
Our organization includes:

on our many dedicated volunteers.
No monies are received from federal, state, or township
governments. All support comes from the generosity of
individuals, local groups, and foundations.
2. OUR SERVICES
Every month we:
? istribute over 5000 bags of groceries per month to an everD
increasing number of clients. The bags contain meat, fresh
fruit and vegetables, and non-perishables. We buy most of
the food from the Community Food Bank of NJ and other
suppliers. Local food drives supplement these purchases.

OUR NEEDS
Our mission cannot be accomplished without financial
support, which is fully tax-deductible.
Donations of food, diapers, personal-care items, new or
gently used clothing, linens and household goods are
critical to our success.
We rely on volunteers who pack and distribute our groceries,
sort donated clothing and housewares, pick up food from
suppliers, deliver food to the homebound, and more.
We are open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00am-Noon for
donation drop offs and Noon-2:15pm for client pickup. Check
