Dirk Lauwers is a civil engineer and MSc in spatial planning and urban design with a working experience of more than 30 years. He is visiting professor at Ghent University, University of Antwerp and University of Leuven, where he teaches and acts as research promoter in the fields of Mobility Planning and Traffic Engineering Design. Apart from his academic activities he has been a consultant in traffic planning and engineering and regional and urban planning. He was Manager for Traffic and Mobility Planning at ARCADIS Belgium (2005-2008). Before he was Managing Director of iris consulting (1995-2004) and manager at Mens and Ruimte (1982-1994).
