I was born and raised in Lorain, OH. When I was growing up it was still a pretty vibrant town with an active shipyard, steel mill and Ford plant. Now, it is pretty much a ghost town as we've lost the shipyard and the Ford plant, and the steel mill is barely operating anymore.
Growing up, we used to go down and watch the freighters unload the iron ore. We used to have huge mountains of iron ore and then that industry also pulled up and left.
