Dr. Byron Brown entered his undergraduate studies at Winthrop University without having a clear idea of what he wanted to do with his life. However, he soon discovered that he had an aptitude for the medical sciences and made the decision to become a doctor. After leaving Winthrop, he worked as a surgical assistant with a general surgeon for a year before he started medical school.
