The children Anban, Wei Ling, Arif, and Amy go on a balloon ride over Gardens by the Bay in Singapore. They learn about how the land was reclaimed from the sea to build the gardens, see structures like the Supertrees that generate solar power and Flower Dome with automatic sun sails. After exploring the two lakes and playground, they discuss how the gardens care for the environment and are part of Singapore's vision of becoming a City in a Garden.
2. Hello everyone!
Remember me? I am Anban.
I¡¯m so excited that Wei Ling, Arif
and Amy can join me on a
balloon ride to Gardens by the
Bay!
3. Wei Ling: Oh! Look! That¡¯s the Gardens. There
are so many things to see.
Let¡¯s fly closer!
4. Arif: Wow! Did you know that this used to
be the sea? We reclaimed the land and
built something beautiful on it!

5. Amy: Look! Those are the Supertrees.
I read that eleven of the Supertrees use the
energy from the sun to give power
to their lights at night!
6. Arif: That¡¯s the Flower
Dome! Did you know that
the roof is fitted with sails
that open automatically to
provide shade to the
plants when it gets too
hot?
7. Anban: Extra
water from all
areas in the
Gardens is
stored in this
lake and
cleansed by
the aquatic
plants.
As the children flew over
the two lakes in the Gardens,
Anban shared what his father told him.
8. Wei Ling: Everyone look!
It is the playground in the
Gardens! Let¡¯s land over there!

playgrounds- example

All: Let us join
our new friends
at play!
10. After a short while, the children got
back into the balloon for their ride
back home.
Anban: I love Gardens by the Bay!
Wei Ling: It is a place that plays its
part in caring for the
environment.
Arif: It is part of Singapore¡¯s
dream of
becoming a City in a Garden.
Amy: What do you want for
Singapore in the future?
