2011 Indiana Spring M.o.MWorkshop Rubric ActivtyArtifacts from the Field
Overview of the ActivityMeeting of the Minds brings together subject area teachers from the New Tech Network by region. For the activity, teachers clustered into 3 groups. They began by writing the PROFICIENT or EFFECTIVE* column of the rubric. After 7-10 minutes the rotated rubrics and tried to create the ADVANCED/HIGHLY EFFECTIVE column for another groups rubric. After 5-7 minutes they switched one last time to complete the UNSATISFACTORY or LESS EFFECTIVE section for the third rubric. We came together as a group and debriefed the process and discussed observations and take-aways.* We changed language after day 1 from the more critical (Unsatisfactory, Advanced to Less Effective, Effective and Highly Effective) Participants uniformly agreed this made for a better activity this in and of itself has some interesting implications
What follows are pictures of the rubrics generated by different groups throughout the week.
