My Story
You could say that I got my first account planning job when I was 8 years old. If being an account planner is about being the voice of the consumer, then I was definitely the voice of my mother. Serving as her interpreter and helping her navigate the world of English. It was a job that I was expected to do and do it well.
As I learned to talk to everyone from doctors, to school officials, to everyone else in between,
if my mother even sensed that I was off in communicating to others what her needs and wants were, I'd get either a stern look or a quick swat in the head.
With time, I mastered her voice and I learned to champion for her with confidence.
