First came into contact with a computer at a visit to an IBM 1410 installed at Kjøbenhavns Handelsbank in Holmens Kanal in Copenhagen in 1962. At that very same address the first Erichsen worked as a coachman in 1814. So his computing career seems to have been predestined.
However, having dropped out of a University study in Astrophysics, he worked for 15 years in the manufacturing and utilities sector before acquiring a technical diploma in computing from the Copenhagen Business School.
