I am a principal at Asahi Juku Secondary School in Okayama, Japan. From 2016, we are offering a new global studies program geared to an international student body. I am also currently finishing a PhD from the Graduate School of Social Work, University of Denver. My research is in the area of adaptation to climate change, focusing specifically on resettlement after natural disasters. My main concern is developing global leaders who are flexible and critical thinkers that are able to tackle problems such as global inequality, climate change, and sustainability. I have published papers in academic journals and have presented at conferences in Asia, North America, and Europe.
