This document discusses soft skills related to jealousy. It defines jealousy as an emotion involving feelings of insecurity, fear, and anxiety over a potential loss of a valued human connection. Jealousy often stems from a combination of anger, resentment, inadequacy and disgust. The document notes that while jealousy may seem harmless if kept in check, it can easily get out of hand. It then discusses how jealousy can lead to fighting within relationships, inaccurate accusations against partners, relationship breakups, and physical illness for the jealous individual.
The document discusses various topics related to suicide including causes, statistics, and prevention. It notes that major depression is the leading cause of suicide and discusses other conditions like bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, and postpartum depression that may increase suicide risk. Statistics provided indicate over 30,000 suicides annually in the US with higher rates among males, whites, and the elderly. The summary concludes by stating prevention involves taking suicidal comments seriously and getting help immediately.
Period 2-RAshaun Sligh- Does Passion Blind people to the truthmrsalcido
油
Passion can blind people to the truth according to the document. Passion is a strong feeling like love, anger, or sadness that can affect people for life based on past experiences. When passionate about something, people feel a need to defend it which can blind them to what is right. Common ways passion blinds people include being attracted to someone and believing what they say despite evidence against it. Passion can also lead to hatred, as demonstrated by how people grow to hate those who betray loves they once had. The document argues passion blinded Tupac Shakur and led to his death, and gives drug abuse and committing suicide due to a break up as other examples of how passion can blind.

This document discusses how people with dementia and their families cope with bereavement and loss. It notes that grief can be a disenfranchised or ambiguous experience for those with dementia as they may forget losses or confuse past and present. Expressions of grief in dementia can include agitation, distress, or confusion about a missing person. It emphasizes the importance of person-centered care, reminiscence work, honesty and consistency when supporting those grieving with dementia.
This document is an extended essay by Ashwath Venkatasubramanian examining why organic farming is not widely practiced in India compared to Estonia, and whether India should adopt organic agriculture. It finds that the main limitations of organic farming in India are lack of awareness/education, insufficient economy, lack of government incentives, and environmental factors. However, it also explores potential benefits of organic farming in India such as improved health, environment and sustainability. The essay compares organic farming practices in India and Estonia through analysis of data from government and independent sources.

This document outlines the design of a digital literacy assessment instrument for in-service English teachers in Brazil. It aims to measure teachers' digital literacy levels across basic, intermediate, and advanced categories. The assessment will have two phases - a computer literacy test evaluating software and hardware skills, and a digital competence test measuring knowledge, attitudes, and skills across five areas (information, communication, content creation, safety, and problem-solving). The document provides details on the theoretical frameworks, test design, sample questions, and pilot testing process for refining the assessment. The goal is to identify teachers' digital literacy levels and inform further professional development.
The document summarizes Marie-Laure Ryan's theories about narrative representation and storyworlds. It discusses how storyworlds are imagined based on readers' real-world experiences but can differ through elements like contradictions. Storyworld properties include their size and completeness. Narratives like novels and plays create internally coherent worlds, but these worlds can be expanded or modified beyond the original text. The document also contrasts textualist approaches that view the text as about itself versus world approaches that see the text as a blueprint for imagining characters and events in a self-contained world.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is prevalent among military veterans who have witnessed severe stressors like combat. About 30% of veterans who served in war zones experience PTSD, with rates as high as 31% among Vietnam veterans and 20% among Iraqi war veterans. People with PTSD often struggle with anger, emotional problems, suicidal thoughts, and feeling disconnected from life and others. PTSD symptoms can interfere with daily life and work, making it difficult to concentrate, sleep, and maintain organization and attendance. Untreated PTSD also contributes to higher unemployment among veterans compared to those without the disorder.
PTSD is a mental health condition that develops after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. It is characterized by intense and distressing memories of the event that interfere with daily life. Common symptoms include intrusive thoughts, nightmares, avoidance of trauma reminders, and increased anxiety. PTSD affects millions of people worldwide. While symptoms vary, confirming a PTSD diagnosis involves a clinical interview and assessing how symptoms impact functioning. Effective treatments are available to help manage symptoms.
PTSD is an anxiety disorder that develops after exposure to a traumatic or dangerous event. Symptoms include re-experiencing the trauma through flashbacks or nightmares, avoidance of trauma-related stimuli, increased arousal and negative mood, and can start within 3 months of the event and last for longer than a month. Effective treatments include cognitive behavioral therapy such as exposure therapy and cognitive restructuring, as well as antidepressant medication.

The document discusses how suicide attempts meet the DSM-5 criteria for a traumatic stressor that can lead to PTSD since they involve threatened or actual death. Symptoms of PTSD include re-experiencing the traumatic event through flashbacks and nightmares, emotional numbing, and increased anxiety and arousal. Different types of PTSD are discussed, including those resulting from a single traumatic adult event or multiple events like disasters.
Sexual violence, including rape, has long-lasting emotional, psychological, and physical effects on survivors. One of these effects is rape trauma syndrome, sometimes called sexual assault trauma syndrome.
Other common mental health disorders after being a victim of sexual violence include depression, anxiety, self-harm, and substance abuse.

Signs and Symptoms of PTSD
1. Signs and Symptoms
of PTSDINFORMATION FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF VETERAN
AFFAIRS
EDWARD WITHROW
2. Reaction to trauma is normal after
experiencing a life-altering event.
However, symptoms lasting more than
3 months that disrupt your life are a
sign that your reactions to the event
have turned to PTSD.
3. PTSD is a very serious disorder that
affects many who have gone through
traumatic events. A high percentage of
veterans experience PTSD after
returning from service. Anyone
experiencing the following signs or
symptoms should seek help
immediately.
4. Reliving the Trauma
Anything from nightmares to flashbacks can reignite the same
feelings that were present when the traumatic event occurred.
Additionally, anything related to said event can be a trigger,
and can leave you feeling like the event is happening all over
again.
5. Avoidance
You may find that reminders of the traumatic event exist in
many places. PTSD sufferers tend to avoid normal situations
like getting caught in crowds, or something as simple as driving
down a road, in fear that they will trigger memories of the
event.
6. Change in or Lack of Emotion
Those experiencing PTSD find their views of the world altered
in a negative way. They may be overwhelmed by a lack of
feeling, or will bottle up emotions in order to keep negative
ones at bay.
7. Hyperarousal
Those suffering from PTSD will find it difficult to relax, as they
are constantly ready to face danger. This comes with an
inability to sleep, trouble concentrating, and being startled by
loud noises.
8. Other Symptoms
Other symptoms of PTSD include trouble controlling emotions,
depression, drifting away from family and friends, and
exhibiting self-destructive behavior.
