For over 25 years, I have been involved in mathematics education as a middle school teacher, supervisor, instructor, writer or curriculum developer in Puerto Rico, Louisiana, and Florida. Since 1989, I have been an associate professor at the University of Central Florida. I have taught mathematics methods (elementary and secondary levels), curriculum development, problem solving, assessment, and technology courses. My major areas of research interest involve brain-based teaching, teaching goals, algebraic thinking, and the use of manipulative materials and games to teach mathematics.
