During 20 years managing professional orchestras I learned a lot about strategy, governance, developing audiences and donors, grants, and managing complex projects. I worked hard to encourage a centuries old art form to integrate new technology and innovative practices. When successful, it was often due to smart partnerships and detailed planning. Results were most rewarding when working with artistic leadership focussed on creating extraordinary and engaging experiences for performers and audiences alike.
