Born in Cairo, Egypt in 1968, I graduated from Ain Shams University, Faculty of Engineering with a B.Sc. in Electronics and Communications (1986-1991). In 1992, I moved to Canada, went to Graduate School for an MASc in Electrical Engineering at the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario (1992-1993). Then, I continued on for a PhD in Electrical Engineering at the University of Waterloo as well (1994-1998). Between 1998-2004, I worked for Nortel Networks in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. In 2004, moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in California where I worked for Cisco Systems. In late 2008, moved to the New York City Area, where I work for Fujitsu Network Communications (FNC).
