Owner of Al noor chicks is Ch. Niaz Rasool
Manager of this hatchery is Tariq Hussain Khan
and he is serving Al noor chicks since 1989.
The hatchery near toll plaza of GT road was
established in 1992.
This hatchery is having 9 setters & 6 hatcher
machines.
Introduction
Hatchery outlook
First hatch of GP in all over pakistan was from AL
noor chicks.
Now they are having broiler GP of Indian
river(american breed).
Shaver, aurbreker were also there in past.
Broiler breeder cost is almost 250-260 Rs(less
price nowadays)
Layer breeder cost is almost 550-600Rs
Different breeds at different times..

entering inside hatchery……..
Before entrance
Every person take shower before
entering into the hatchery.This
room is having washrooms in the
middle & in both sides cupboards
are present.
One side of cupboards are for the
hanging of clothes of workers that
they wear from their residences.
On the other sides cupboards are
having hatchery uniforms,gloves
etc

Egg receiving room
Empty setters present in egg room
Setters were of
petersime company.
One trolley is having 32
trays.
16 on one side & 16 on
other side of the
trolley.
One tray is having capacity of
160 eggs.
Total trays in one trolley are 32.
So total no. of eggs that can be
placed in ane trolley are
160 *32=5120 eggs in one
trolley.

Digital
Analogue
This is of analogue type.
Tilting of trays within setter:
Manual tilting was done by
THEM.
Normally a machine tilt the
trays after every one hour
which is sufficient.
Tilting is done to avoid
sticking of embryo with the
wall of egg shell.

Eggs set in setter trays
Can you see the empty spaces within
trays…….?
If you noticed them than the
reason behind it is…….
These empty spaces indicate
that the infertile eggs are
removed from these trays
after candling.
In this hatchery candling is done at day 11 in layer
breeder flock
While in broiler breeder flock candling is done at
13day.
According to managers statement only once he
touches upto 95% hatchability.
Usually the hatchability of broiler GP range is 92-
93%.
While the hatchabilityof layer GP is maximally
94%(only once touches 95%).
The hatchability of last three flocks were
• 68.54%
• 70.39%
• 61.05%
When shifting from setter to hatcher one egg
loses almost 12-14% its weight due to moisture
loss.
So an egg of 55g after losing 14% of its weight
becomes of 47.3g.
14/100*55=7.7
55-7.7=47.3g

• Sex sorting(sexing)
• Vaccination against
Merck,s disease
Is done here.
Sex sorting table
In this a bulb is placed just in front of
the tray containing chicks to provide
adequate source of light.
More light will lead to easy sexing.
Two trays/chick boxes are placed on
either side of this tray seen in this
picture.(here they use chick boxes)
After sexing males are dropped in
left side chick box.
Females are dropped in right sided
chick box.
Feather sexing method:
Specific types of breeds are prepared
for this purpose.
Females are having fast feathering
so upper & lower feathers are almost
equal in size.
On the other hand males are having
slow featheing so upper & lower
feathers have different sizes.
It is quick & easy method of sexing.

Vaccination:
Vaccination in day old chicks
is only done against merck,s
disease in the hatchery with
the help of socorex syringes.
Remaining vaccines will be
done on their respective
farms.
We see 3 socorex syringes
over here.
