I grew up in rural Georgia where everyone knew everyone and your grandparents were always within shouting distance. Lunch was dinner, dinner was supper. Blackberry cobbler was a weekly special from our berry pickin' journeys with Papa and we went out family-visitin' each Sunday. We played outside til dark or until Mom yelled for us. We had a scrap wood fort built just beyond the tree line. My brothers, Anthony and Adam, and I would race our bikes through trails. Anthony always won! Papa would take us for walks through the woods and teach us about the plants and their uses. I was exposed to rich culture early in life and flourished within its loving embrace. I have been married to a great man
