Fidel is a Kenyan-born screenwriter, living and working in Johannesburg, South Africa. Winner of the 2013 South African Writers Guild Award for Best Comedy writing, Fidel also won the 2009 South African Business and Arts Award for Sponsorship of the Arts, and was voted Most Promising Student by his alma mater, the University of the Witwatersrand in 2007. He had an excellent record in his Dramatic Arts degree at the University of the Witwatersrand where he was awarded the Leontine Sagan award, the EJA Loerinnz scholarship and was admitted to the Golden Key Honours Society. He is also a produced playwright.
