Biochemist, PhD in Biological Sciences interested in neurotoxicology and neuropharmacology.
My research is focused in the effects of the exposure to environmental neurotoxicants such as pesticides and heavy metals in cognitive functions (in humans) and synaptic plasticity/behavior (rodent animals models). I am interested in to describe new mechanisms of neurotoxicity through the discover of new targets and to explore their usefulness as biomarkers in exposed populations.
My research interest in neuropharmacology deals with cognitive enhancers in healthy animals models and in models of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease.
