Sir Francis Bacon stated, “Knowledge is Power.” The more we learn, the more we grow, and the better we are for taking the initiative to delve into the unknown. Teaching is an honor. It is a privilege to interact with youth, to provide insight and to see the light bulbs go off. Their faces light up and they get “that look.” Acknowledging the hold this profession has over me does not make me an outstanding teacher; rather, I am just like all of the other educators who chose to become teachers in order to make a difference in children’s lives, no matter age, race, or background.
