Irmak is a Design Director at IDEO. He strives to combine the perspective and tools of data science with human-centered design thinking to create beautifully useful products and services.
Irmak believes in and embraces the subjectivity of data, as well as any process that utilizes data. In his mind, data science is a creative discipline, and data is a medium for design.
Irmak used to be a partner at Datascope. He co-designed and taught Metis Data Science Bootcamp. He also conducted and published academic research on student choices in public schools, web browsing behaviors of masses, global airline networks, species conservation in ecology, language topic models, and optimizing DNA.
