My work is about bringing futures to life to enable collective imagination and a wiser culture.
Over the past decade and a half I've worked with creatives, clients and collaborators around the world to make it increasingly standard practice to explore futures in tangible, playable and immersive forms ranging from guerrilla performances to gallery installations, games, and artifacts from the future (aka design fiction, speculative design).
I'm currently Associate Professor in the School of Design at Carnegie Mellon University, where I also direct the Situation Lab, a research unit co-founded and run with Jeff Watson of University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts.
