As a Ph.D. candidate, I took interest in the synthesis and biological studies of novel polymers for use in tissue engineering applications. I explored various routes to enhance the directed differentiation of human mesenchymal stem cells in order to regenerate a targeted tissue type. I also gained significant knowledge in the fields of polymer synthesis and functionalization, cellular biology and tissue engineering, which I plan to utilize as the basis for my future career. Currently I am continuing my work in the field of materials science by using the skills I have gained to aid in the large scale production of polymers for biomaterials applications as a postdoctoral fellow.
