Mental stunting due to Child Malnutrition is irreversible once the child reaches the age of 24 months. About half of India's adult population has an IQ of 80 or less, due to stunting in early childhood. Currently, 40% of Indian children under the age of 5 are stunted. This is an unacceptably large human, social and economic problem.
