The reason I work in IT is because I love implementing solutions based on a solid foundation and because I love that "light-bulb" moment when someone understands what the solution can do for them. It doesn't matter if that is via email, face-to-face training, community-support or documentation that I have written. Knowing that my translation of the technical solution to something understandable and that I have helped someone just makes my day.
After many years as a Microsoft SharePoint consultancy, I have returned to both support and the open source world.
