In 1995 I invented the VeinViewer to make subcutaneous veins easier to see for pflebotomy, pflebology, and vascular surgery. The device projects an image of subcutaneous veins onto the skin. I did research on this device while an Associate Professor of BME at UTHSC. I receved patents for the device in 1999 and 2003. In 2001 I founded the company Luminetx in order to commercialize my VeinViewer invention. I was the original investor in the company and funded the development of the first three prototypes in 2004.
