My country Iceland - often called the 鈥淟and of Fire and Ice鈥� - is regularly affected by catastrophes such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, avalanches and floods from melting glaciers. This harsh environment has shaped my interest and passion in disaster management, and I am fortunate to be able to make it my profession.
