Ile is a barangay about four kilometers going north from the town proper of Dimiao. According to the old folks living in the barangay, it got its name from the abundance of eel which is called in Visayan as 鈥渒asile鈥�. A body of freshwater in this place was full of 鈥渒asile鈥�, which is used as viand by the people living in the vicinity. The Kurimo river cross the boundary between Ile and Datag. It is from this river where people catch 鈥渒asile鈥� and visitors to any Ile home were usually entertained and served delicious preparation of the 鈥渒asile鈥�, either 鈥渙n-on鈥�, 鈥渟ugba鈥� 鈥渢uwa鈥�.
