After 13 years of school (that's how long you go to school in Germany, if you want to be able to matriculate at any university) I decided to go and discover the rest of the world because I felt cosy little Hamburg is nice but not enough. Also I thought "If I go, I might as well go as far as possible!" And so I ended up going to Africa and Australia, which I would now call to be amongst the best decisions of my life. For the last 1 1/2 years I've been exploring other cultures (and my own as you compare!) and found a small piece of home everywhere I went.
