Intelligent sewers use telemetry and remote control to provide two-way communication with pressure sewer systems. This allows for real-time fault detection and monitoring of flows, holding capacity, and pump usage. Operators gain operational insight through smart meters on each pump that identify blockages and outages in real-time. Data is integrated with SCADA and GIS systems to provide a complete overview of each pump and blockage locations. The system also uses peak shifting algorithms to reduce peak flows to downstream treatment.
