Dr. Ismael Santos holds an MSc in Applied Mathematics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (IM-UFRJ) and a PhD in Computer Graphics from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (DI-PUC/Rio). He has been working for Petrobras since 1987 as a scientific software engineer architect and developer with extensive experience in the development of large-scale applications for the E&P segment.
In his master degree (1997), he developed a Neural Network based application to address the First Break Picking problem. From 2003 to 2004 he worked as a guest research scientist at the Virtual Environment division of the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft in Sankt Augustin, Germany.
