I am doing a PhD on a joint project between the Artificial Intelligence Lab at VUB and AirTOpsoft S.A. company in Brussels. My project is funded by a Doctiris / Innoviris grant. The goal of this initiative is to fund PhD projects with cooperation between industry and university that will bring economic development to the Brussels region.
My thesis is focused on how multi-agent reinforcement learning techniques may be used to generate an optimal sequence for departing aircraft over busy airports in the context of decision support systems for the airport ground (departure management). These techniques may improve the behavior of similar tools existing nowadays
