First and foremost, I try to bring clarity to a software project: what are our users' goals, our business goals, our communal or societal aims? What is the best strategy to advance those goals, understanding that technology is rarely the whole solution? How are existing solutions helping or hurting? How do we measure the success of any new approach?
My work thus far has spanned the medical and technological spectra, including cutting-edge pharmaceutical discovery systems, clinical trials software that leverages social media, groupware for collaborative grant-writing, a customer management system for an outcomes improvement program, and a physician portal for a major pediatric hospital.
