Born and raised in Humboldt Park, the Puerto Rican heart of Chicago, Janeida Rivera also known as the Queen of HP, uses her lived experiences as a young, Puerto Rican, Queer, Womyn as the ink in her pen. As a freshman in high school, she began performing spoken word and has graced hundreds of stages, both nationally and internationally, as a spoken word poet/emcee since then. The Queen of HP is an innovative, fresh and provocative artist whose performances are energetic and creative from beginning to end.
