I started a media education and consultancy business in 2017 after doing three summers of workshops for student and professional journalists in Asia; serving 20 years as faculty adviser to student media programs at the University of Hawaiʻi, which included a year teaching in Vietnam as a Fulbright Core Scholar; six years reporting, writing and marketing an award-winning book on contemporary Native Hawaiian culture; and eight years as a reporter for Honolulu's morning daily.
