I was a journalist for 11 years. I worked at seven newspapers in six states. I covered several beats, including education and local and state government. I specialized in immigration and the Latino community in Utah.
In September 2010, I followed my passion into public policy. I started as the immigration and refugee integration director at the United Way of Salt Lake. I was an immigration lobbyist during the 2011 Utah Legislature.
In June 2011, I started as a Community Collabortations Director. I supervised and coordinated the UWSL partnerships at our three centers in West Valley City and Kearns.
