Maitland Public Library in Florida chose the Library•Solution integrated library system and LS2 Cataloging solution from TLC to provide improved services to patrons. Maitland Library will go live on the new system on April 1st, making it one of the first to use LS2 Cataloging. The library said the new system from TLC will be easier to use, faster, and work across all devices. It will also allow patrons to access ebooks directly from search results. TLC has over 4,500 library clients worldwide and will help Maitland Library modernize its cataloging processes.

Maitland Public Library chooses TLC
INWOOD, W.Va. (March 7, 2017) – Maitland Public Library in Florida has chosen the Library•Solution®
integrated library system to provide state-of-the-art service to staff and borrowers. Going live on April 1,
Maitland will also be one of the first libraries to implement TLC's next-generation cataloging solution, LS2
Cataloging.
Located in beautiful Orange County, Maitland Public Library has been serving local residents since 1896 when
it opened in a teacher’s living room with a donation of 360 books. Today the library is located in a century-old
building that has been expanded three times to accommodate a growing collection that now exceeds 85,000
titles.
In an announcement to its patrons, Maitland Public Library said TLC’s Library•Solution automation system “is
easier to use, faster, and designed to work great on all of your devices. One of the features we like best about
this catalog is that you’ll be able to find and download e-books straight from your search results without having
to log into OverDrive separately. It even has a catalog just for kids!”
In addition to joining a worldwide family of more than 4,500 TLC libraries, Maitland Public Library will be one of
the first implementations of TLC's LS2 Cataloging, which introduces a new approach to cataloging that moves
libraries beyond a traditional MARC editor. LS2 Cataloging’s innovative use of glossaries to maintain data
consistency, a new series service supplying titles linked to genres and audience level, and improvements to
batch editing of bibliographic, item, and authority records deliver an improved user experience for staff and a
better discovery experience for library users.
TLC, a GSA-certified company certified by both the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council and the
U.S. Small Business Administration’s Women Owned Small Business Federal Contracting Program, was
established in 1974 to provide automation, cataloging, and data management solutions to public, school,
academic, and special libraries. The company is based in Inwood, W.Va., and has additional offices in Denver,
Singapore, and Ontario, Canada.

1. Maitland Public Library chooses TLC INWOOD, W.Va. (March 7, 2017) – Maitland Public Library in Florida has chosen the Library•Solution® integrated library system to provide state-of-the-art service to staff and borrowers. Going live on April 1, Maitland will also be one of the first libraries to implement TLC's next-generation cataloging solution, LS2 Cataloging. Located in beautiful Orange County, Maitland Public Library has been serving local residents since 1896 when it opened in a teacher’s living room with a donation of 360 books. Today the library is located in a century-old building that has been expanded three times to accommodate a growing collection that now exceeds 85,000 titles. In an announcement to its patrons, Maitland Public Library said TLC’s Library•Solution automation system “is easier to use, faster, and designed to work great on all of your devices. One of the features we like best about this catalog is that you’ll be able to find and download e-books straight from your search results without having to log into OverDrive separately. It even has a catalog just for kids!” In addition to joining a worldwide family of more than 4,500 TLC libraries, Maitland Public Library will be one of the first implementations of TLC's LS2 Cataloging, which introduces a new approach to cataloging that moves libraries beyond a traditional MARC editor. LS2 Cataloging’s innovative use of glossaries to maintain data consistency, a new series service supplying titles linked to genres and audience level, and improvements to batch editing of bibliographic, item, and authority records deliver an improved user experience for staff and a better discovery experience for library users.
